As the 2020 presidential election looms, Americans are becoming more divided about which party has the best candidate, and few presidential candidates have been more contentious than former Vice President Joe Biden.
While Biden has himself been in the public eye for more than 40 years, working his way through Capitol Hill and finally landing in the vice president’s seat, his family has been somewhat less successful in winning over public opinion.
Likely the most infamous in Biden’s family is his son, Hunter Biden, who landed in the spotlight both personally and professionally as Americans questioned his ties to Ukrainians and strippers (ironically though, not Ukrainian strippers).
Hunter’s connection to Ukrainian came in the form of a sweet business deal to sit on the board of a company that he had zero experience for, and still got a fat paycheck, but for what, no one knows. The suspicion that his connection was to find favor with his father’s administration and dealings that the company needed to have within the United States.
That speculation has lead to investigations into Biden that caused a Wednesday report to be released by Senate Republicans that showed Hunter Biden allegedly sent “thousands of dollars” to people who appear to be in the sex industry.
The report seems to indicate unspecified records show that Biden “has sent funds to non-resident alien women in the United States who are citizens of Russia and Ukraine and who have subsequently wired funds they have received from Hunter Biden to individuals located in Russia and Ukraine,” The New York Post reported.
“The records also note that some of these transactions are linked to what ‘appears to be an Eastern European prostitution or human trafficking ring.’ ”
The potentially damning claims against the potential first-son come at a particularly inopportune time for the Biden campaign and are only part of a larger section in the report that shows indications of “criminal concerns and extortion threats” involving both Hunter Biden and other members of the Biden family.
According to the Post, the report also cites “extensive public reporting concerning Hunter Biden’s alleged involvement with prostitution services.”
“Records on file with the Committees do not directly confirm or refute these individual reports.
“However, they do confirm that Hunter Biden sent thousands of dollars to individuals who have either: 1) been involved in transactions consistent with possible human trafficking; 2) an association with the adult entertainment industry; or 3) potential association with prostitution.”
While Hunter Biden’s life and business associations might be par for the course for the Democratic party, he probably doesn’t have the experience covering his tracks the way many of his father’s political cronies do. There is also a question raised if the Democratic party is just so used to this type of activity that it didn’t even raise a red flag for them when endorsing “sleepy Joe” for their presidential pick.
There is reason to believe that the Democratic party is so far gone in its upper echelons that they might consider anyone who didn’t trade on their political credibility to be an idiot.
The other option is, of course, if they don’t plan on Biden holding a seat on the Oval Office at all, if he is, as many have questioned, just the Trojan horse pushing uber-progressive yet unelectable Kamala Harris toward the most powerful seat in the world. We could ask Joe Biden, but chances are he would just remind us about the half of Americans who he says have had COVID-19 and then pet someone’s hair.
