CNN anchor Chris Cuomo took his frustration with the president of the United States to the airways on Monday, calling out President Donald Trump after his recent diagnosis with COVID-19.
Cuomo, who has himself had the virus and has made no secret of his victim complex after recovering from the allegedly highly deadly virus that earlier in the year shut down the economy for most of the nation.
The CNN host cut loose, slamming the president for his speech after he arrived at the White House calling what the Commander-in-Chief said, “propaganda.”
“He had his video crew capture that stupid scene again, so he could put out propaganda, fronting a lie to his people, once again, just like ‘Don’t worry about the masks,’ now he says, ‘Don’t worry about COVID. Don’t let it control your life,’” Cuomo said.
The CNN host didn’t play the actual audio of what the president said, but spoke over the video and showed visual footage only. “Why should I? Cuomo said. “How much bullshit do you need in your life?”
According to Cuomo and many other journalists who have commented on the president’s recent illness, the level of care that he likely received while convalescing at Walter Reed Medical Center would have been of the highest quality.
That, according to Cuomo, means that the president is a hypocrite for attempting to calm Americans about the trajectory of the virus in the United States today.
“They don’t have any choice, because you’re not setting up communities with the testing that you take for granted, a hospital suite, and 24-hour care, and experimental drugs, and all the best of everything, all the time,” Cuomo continued.
Cuomo then tore into the president for his take on COVID-19, something that has been the topic of discussion for many a Democratic strategist as the election rocks on.
“The virus is the truth. And this president is a walking lie, or as my brilliant writer says, “Lie-ability,” L-I-E-ability. Good one, Susan!” the journalist said.
The host seemed especially frustrated with the president’s message upon returning to the White House. He tweeted a video about a minute in length where he spoke from the balcony and told Americans,“Don’t be afraid of it. You’re going to beat it. We have the best medical equipment, we have the best medicines.”
The president and first lady aren’t the only high profile administration officials to test positive for COVID-19: “Since President Trump announced early Friday that he and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for the virus, many of his associates have also announced positive tests, including White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Monday,” the publication reported.
Trump has continued his campaign, non-stop, pointing Americans to what he believes are the relevant issues in the upcoming election:
“The Fake News Media refuses to discuss how good the Economy and Stock Market, including JOBS under the Trump Administration, are doing,” Trump said. “We will soon be in RECORD TERRITORY. All they want to discuss is COVID 19, where they won’t say it, but we beat the Dems all day long, also!!!”
Thanks to the medium of social media, however, the bias of the mainstream media can be somewhat neutralized, and so-called journalists like Cuomo aren’t the only source of information that reaches Americans’ ears.
New media and its domination online have given conservatives a reach into the real message that Republicans in Washington want them to know.
Whether a voter likes what Republicans have to say or not, they can at least now depend on their stream of information to give them a true picture of the facts.
