Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is leading the way for the nation on how to handle COVID. For months now he hasn’t forced masks or restrictions on people, and as such Florida has had some of the lowest transmission numbers in the country. It’s amazing how the body flourishes when allowed to breathe that sweet, sweet freedom deep inside. Now Gov. DeSantis wants to block the poisoning of our children’s minds.
Per the Governor’s office “Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the Stop the Wrongs to Our Kids and Employees (W.O.K.E.) Act, a legislative proposal that will give businesses, employees, children and families tools to fight back against woke indoctrination. The Stop W.O.K.E. Act will be the strongest legislation of its kind in the nation and will take on both corporate wokeness and Critical Race Theory. Today’s proposal builds on actions Governor DeSantis has already taken to ban Critical Race Theory and the New York Times’ 1619 project in Florida’s schools.”
This is some of the first legislation of its kind to try and stop the mass poisoning of our children’s minds. It’s a proper step towards governing people in a smart way. Use executive privilege to set the parameters of the policy, then draft legislation, and allow the legislature to hash out what the people of Florida want to see for the state.
It’s kind of like the military; give them a job to do with an end goal identified, then sit back and watch the privates figure out what makes the most sense. It’s a great way to get things done and to get those further down the trough involved and show their constituents what kind of difference, they can make.
This is a topic Governor DeSantis has been outspoken on for some time. He has wanted to see Florida remain a free state and with the social justice warriors at the gate begging to be let in, what better time than now to get the word out that things have changed? His refusal to submit to their every whim is something Americans of all backgrounds can admire.
While many believe that CRT should be mandatory, Governor DeSantis makes a good argument against it being mandatory. “In Florida, we are taking a stand against the state-sanctioned racism that is critical race theory…We won’t allow Florida tax dollars to be spent teaching kids to hate our country or to hate each other. We also have a responsibility to ensure that parents have the means to vindicate their rights when it comes to enforcing state standards. Finally, we must protect Florida workers against the hostile work environment that is created when large corporations force their employees to endure CRT-inspired ‘training’ and indoctrination…We are going to be including in this legislation giving parents a private right of action to be able to enforce the prohibition on CRT, and they get to recover attorney’s fees when they prevail, which is very important. A lot of times these people will fear lawsuits more than a fine from the State Department of Education.”
He’s certainly right about this. The idea of force-feeding adults CRT is horrendous, but the kids especially don’t need it. The military has been doing this for years, and it does little but breed contempt among the ranks. You’re telling one group that they are oppressed and it’s the other group’s fault. You’re teaching them that they live in (and fighting for) hates them and would kill them if they legally could. Do you think that helps inspire people to fight side by side? Do you think it would teach kids to respect and love one another? Let’s face facts, CRT is nothing more than the left’s attempt to push America into Civil War II.
