DOJ Confirms Trump’s Statement About Funding For Rioters

Acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Chad Wolf confirmed the fears of many when he said Monday that they had reason to believe that the protests over the death of George Floyd and Jacob Blake were organized and orchestrated.

Wolf told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that it was “absurd” to think that President Donald Trump and his administration are causing the ongoing civil unrest and the DOJ is investigating who is organizing the protests.

“The Department has been at this since early July, particularly in Portland, addressing some of this violent rioting and looting that was occurring in anarchists targeting a federal building in Portland,” Wolf said.

On the same evening, Trump told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham that he believed the coordination of ANTIFA and other rioters were working in concert to a specific, and well-planned end.

“This person was coming to the Republican National Convention and there were like seven people in the plane [with] this person, and then a lot of people were on the plane to do big damage,” Trump said, referencing those on the plane seems to be part of ANTIFA.

According to Trump, “people you’ve never heard of, people in the dark shadows” are what’s making the widespread rioting and property damage possible.

“The money is coming from some very stupid rich people [who] have no idea that if their thing ever succeeded, which it won’t, they will be thrown to the wolves like you’ve never seen before,” he said.

The president’s claims were considered to be controversial by those who believe in an organic uprising that has sprung up in the face of oppression. However, the acting director of DHS had other thoughts:

“I think most reasonable Americans understand what’s going on out there,” Wolf continued. “And really the cause of all this is local officials, state officials not taking this seriously enough from day one.

Wolf said the Department of Justice is investigating the heads of the organizations and individuals funding the rioters to “move across the country.”

“It’s something I’ve talked to the AG personally about, and I know that they are working on it,” Wolf told Carlson. “Look, we’ve seen about 300 arrests across this country regarding civil unrest and protesting — violent protesting, I would say criminal protesting, criminal rioting. We have got about 300 arrests.

Wolf went on to explain that the DOJ is specifically focusing their investigation on the heads of the organizations and anyone funneling monetary support toward the individuals perpetrating the riots and vandalism

“What we know, Tucker, is that we have seen groups and individuals move from Portland to other parts of the country.” He went on to say that the investigations are “moving as quickly as possible,” and added that the Trump administration is “committed to holding individuals accountable.”

The DHS head said that his department is doing their part to get to the bottom of the potentially illegal orchestration of inter-state protesting, vandalism, and targeting of political figures.

“… we’re getting that information over to the Department of Justice, to the FBI, to those criminal investigators that are doing their job … But again, this administration, this president is committed to holding individuals accountable.”

Wolf and other officials have made it known that while the Black Lives Matter movement has loudly proclaimed that they’re propelled forward by the violated hearts of those who’ve experienced injustice. However, there is serious doubt about where the millions of dollars being given to their organization is going and whether the destruction left in their wake is being financed by those with a political agenda in mind.
