It is not enough that liberal teachers indoctrinate children with dangerous philosophical beliefs. They have to look them in the eye and tell them that events in history never happened.
This is the case of one educator in Florida high school that refused to admit that the Holocaust was a “factual, historical event.” His refusal to teach and support history’s errors only sets up the possibility of it happening again.
William Latson is the principle that has slapped Holocaust survivors in the face with his refusal to embrace the truth.
At first, the nasty principal was fired for his comments. But somewhere along the line, he was rehired and given $152,000 in back pay. The school board of Spanish River Community High School has dealt the students with a significant injustice.
The moment of his denial surfaced when a mother of one of the students told Latson that students would not be forced to learn. In essence, he sees high school as a big daycare center. He believes that students can come and screw off in class instead of learning about their history.
He told the parent that over six million Jews’ deaths are just a “belief” made up by people who want people to think that the war was worse than it was.
For an educator to deny such an event that has been proven over and over through fact, is to deny the truth of history. He is not fit to teach or be over any educational facility.
The man was able to get a judge to rule in his favor. This essentially forced the school board to rehire Latson and pay him back pay.
Latson does not deserve to work in any educational facility. He will not be able to return to his previous position but is given another position in another part of education.
Latson took it upon himself to politicize history. Essentially he teaches and believes that students should be able to believe whatever they want about history. And if they disagree with what is stated, they have the right to opt-out of that portion of the class.
In a Post-Modern world, liberals teach students that all truth is whatever they want it to be. So, the reality of history becomes a philosophical platform for people to say and do whatever they want in class and life.
The lousy educator stated that “I can’t say the Holocaust is a factual, historical event because I am not in a position to do so as a school district employee. Not everyone believes the Holocaust happened and you have your thoughts but we are a public school and not all of our parents have the same beliefs so they will react differently.”
Teachers are to teach material provided by the District regardless of whether they believe in it. When a teacher believes in a recent creation account, they are silenced and forced to teach the evolutionary content that they are provided.
Latson and the rest of his staff should be forced then to teach the factual events of the Holocaust, whether they believe that it ever happened or not.
In his graceful way, he stated that “My thoughts and beliefs have nothing to do with this because I am a public servant. I have the role to be politically neutral but support all groups in the school. I work to expose students to certain things, but not all parents want their students exposed so they will not be and I can’t force that issue.”
Those parents that do not want their child exposed to the truth of history have the right to pull their child out of school for that day. They do not have the right to force their minority beliefs on everyone else.
Latson took the matter to court and found a judge that was willing to write that “There was, therefore, no just cause for his suspension and termination. The transfer of Dr. Latson to another position within the District, a discretionary move, however, is warranted based upon his poor choices in communicating to a parent his ‘neutral’ position on the factual basis for the Holocaust.”
Latson is a prime example of the dangers that liberals are to students who sit under their teachings.
