GOP Rep. Introduces New Bill to Protect Border Wall
(UnitedVoice.com) – One of former President Donald Trump’s crowning achievements was his work on the wall along the southern border. He was able to build more than 300 miles of new barrier during his time in office, but sadly President Joe Biden didn’t continue his work. However, one Republican hopes to protect the 45th president’s legacy.
On April 13, Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) introduced the Donument Act. The bill aims to protect the border wall built by Trump by declaring the miles already built a national monument, giving it permanent protection. The freshman congressman applauded the former president’s actions and said he’s going to do whatever he can to make sure the southern border is secure.

Unfortunately, the bill is unlikely to go anywhere in the current Congress, though it could give the GOP a plan if they take back the majority in 2022. It is, if it works, a very clever way to protect the wall from the Democratic Party’s destructive hands.
